Psychologist

Sanaz Mehranvar (she/her) is a registered psychologist with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO), bringing over a decade of experience supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and their parents and families. She provides both assessments and therapeutic intervention, with a deep commitment to creating an inclusive and affirming environment for clients of all backgrounds and identities, including those across diverse cultural, racial, religious, class, gender, sexual, and other identities.

In her assessment work, Sanaz conducts diagnostic, psychoeducational, and social-emotional evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults. She has extensive experience identifying and supporting a range of developmental and learning needs, including learning disabilities, attention deficit disorders, and other cognitive and emotional concerns. Her assessments are comprehensive, strengths-based, and aimed at helping families better understand and support their child's unique learning profile and emotional well-being.

Her therapeutic work is grounded in evidence-based, culturally responsive care. Sanaz draws from a range of modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, play therapy, and family systems approaches. With a compassionate and collaborative approach, she tailors each therapeutic experience to reflect each youth's unique needs, lived experiences, and personal goals. Whether working with a child, teen, or family, she is committed to creating a supportive space where each individual feels safe, seen, and understood.

At the heart of Sanaz's work is a belief that meaningful therapeutic change happens through authentic, vulnerable connection. She views therapy as a space for real, respectful conversations—free from judgment—where young people can explore their inner world and begin the process of healing, growth, and self-discovery.

Sanaz holds a Master of Arts in Clinical-Developmental Psychology from York University, where she also completed advanced doctoral-level clinical training. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Department of Clinical Health Psychology at the University of Manitoba (Faculty of Medicine). Her clinical training spans hospitals, community mental health clinics, and private practice settings, including positions at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital.

If you're curious about how therapy or assessment can support your child or teen—or if you're a parent looking for guidance in supporting your youth's mental health—Sanaz welcomes you to reach out and begin the journey toward healing and growth together.
